Shadow puppet plays known as wayang kulit are popular not only in Bali but throughout Indonesia. More than entertainment, the wayang kulit is a form of culture used to convey myth, religion and morality. Their function is to educate and amuse, by portraying good and evil, with good always triumphing, although evil is never destroyed.  Balinese puppetry is known to be the precursor to modern day animation and is celebrated widely. Enhanced with traditional batik cloth and handcarved from prized Albesia wood, it features moveable sticks to help enact your own version of the famous wayang kulit. A great conversation piece!
